We headed out on Tuesday morning for Port Townsend, WA to enjoy our first family vacation in a few years. The boys enjoyed the Olympic Game Farm....didn't like it too much when the zebra, llama and bison stuck their head in the car but loved seeing "sherkon the tiger" and the lions!
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with family.
On Friday we went to Fort Wordan and visited the Marine Science Center where we looked at the starfish, crabs.....ect. Pierre did finally touch a starfish after much coaxing. Helen on the other hand touched everything!
When we returned back to our place.....
This has always been a good number for us. Just ask our kids.
Wes took the boys to the swingset to burn off some energy like he had all week. Jeffley was enjoying himself and after Wes had pushed him and turned to push one of the other boys, he either fell out or let go....who knows but he landed hurting. Wes brought him back to #13 and after one look I knew we were headed to the hospital in Port Townsend. Once the x-rays were completed there was no doubt, his right femer was broken. They arranged for us to go by ambulance to Seattle's Children's hospital. Let's just say nothing happens fast. He fell on Friday at 4:30, we arrived at Children's at 11PM, we got to his room at 4AM, his scheduled 10 AM OR room to put on his spica cast was open at 5PM, and he was out of there at 7PM. He was released from the hospital at 12PM Sunday and we returned home arriving at 5PM.
He has had a pretty good day today but it is going to be a long 6 weeks with him not able to do anything but talk, wave his arms, poop and pee and sleep.....hmmm like having a newborn that weighs 40 lbs!
We are thankful there was no permanent damage and that it looks like it will all heal.
Not really the first Christmas at home with the boys as I had imagined.
Blessings,,
Julie

We will pray, he will heal faster :-)

Wow poor baby! Looks rather miserable to be in that cast. Plus it is hard on you - 40 lbs is a lot of weight to carry.
Hoping the time flies quickly & Jeffley handles the confinement.
Hugs, Laur
Wow, Julie, we should get our boys together. Woodley fell out of our tree swing on Sunday. He has a buckle fracture in his upper right arm. It didn't require a cast, just a sling type of thing. It will be a long 4 weeks trying to keep his arm from moving! Woodley is the first in our family to have a broken bone, after 17 years, and it only took him 3 weeks to do it. My, how different little boys are from girls! I'll be praying for quick healing and for patience for you!
Aw, poor guy! And poor you! You know, my husband broke his leg when he was two and the family stories that get repeated to this day regarding "the incident" are hilarious. Just think, in 20 years it *will* be hilarious! ;)
Aside from the cast the boys look great and I'm so happy that they're home with you!
Love,
Amy
