Relatives

Jeffley's aunt came to visit before we came home. She had taken care of him when his mom passed away. It was difficult for her and I know if she had the means she would have kept him. Jeffley's mom was her little sister, only 16 at the time of Jeffley's birth and she died shortly after. Jeffley was very healthy when he came to stay at Children of the Promise.

Kenzy's aunt and cousin, Woodson, also came to say good bye. Neither aunts spoke English so we visited through Maria, the long term volunteer. Kenzy's mother died at age 18 and came to the orphanage very sick.

I am very thankful to these two women for thier wisdom and sacrifice of these two boys.

Pierre's dad also came by to visit a short time. He wanted to know if Pierre was being a good boy and if he was intelligent. I was glad to tell him his son was both. I was able to give them all pictures of the boys.

With the adoption these family members will recieve two updates from us the first two years and one a year there after. This is required by the Haitian Social Services and Children of the Promise.
