Meet Jeffley

Last Sunday night Wes took Pierre and Kenzy to Evening church. Jeffley was feeling a little left out and so we dressed him up to help him feel special. It has been good for Jeffley to have some alone time with mom.

When Jeffley came home, he wanted to be held by anyone and everyone. This was his MO at the orphanage. He would look with his big puppy dog eyes and elicit sympathy from any and all who looked into those big brown eyes. It has just been in the last couple of weeks that he has shown signs of trusting just momma and showing caution with others. He has stopped waking up in sobs which took hours to calm.
He has a very soft voice and I have been working with him to speak up, instead of whispering.

He may be the youngest but I am often disciplining him for beating up his two older brothers. He can be sneaky and has a very mean streak which was a surprise to me. He has a strong will and discipline doesn't usually phase him. I am wondering if the cute ones are more difficult!

On the other hand, he loves to be held and read to. He is very smart. I have been teaching colors and letters and he catches on very quickly. He will sit and watch a DVD. He usually the one I can count on to be dry each morning but if he doesn't get to the toilet in time will mess his pants. Go figure! He doesn't like meat and takes forever to eat. If he doesn't get fed when he is hungry h e cries and pulls his ears. It took me a while to figure that one out!

He loves going with daddy but daddy says it has to be short trips as he gets into everything and it is a job in itself to have him with him! He is the first to take something apart, get into things and be where he is not suppose to be.

It has only been a short time that this little one has been home but I love him and each day he is in our family I thank God for this dear little one.
